Classical Music
- Beethoven's 9th (Choral) - a metaphysical sea of sound that ends with a glorious choral finale.
- Beethoven's 5th - fate knocking at your door. It's awesome what intense music Beethoven can weave with variations on just 4 notes.
- Beethoven's 3rd (Eroica) - another unworldly musical wonder, dignity meets dissonance. The Funeral March is to die for!
- Berlioz Symphony Fantastique - delirious music from someone who must be on crack when he wrote it. One of the most brillant piece of orchestration!
- Brahms 4th - great romantic music with thick orchestral texture.
- Tchaikovsky's 5th (Pathetique) - melodious and melancholic. Strange waltz movement.
- Sibelius 2nd - You can almost hear the grandeur of the Finnish landscape.
- Mahler's 1st - For me, the most accessible Mahler. The "Freire Jacques" melody transformed to a funeral march is morbid music at its best.
- Beethoven's 7th - from rollicking to profound. The slow movement is very moving.
- Mozart's 40th - the very popular restless melody of the first movement introduces you to a work of genius.
